I can get a GPS to get me there.
I can get a phone to tell others I’m there.
I can get a golf range/distance finder to help me play better.
But is there something that can do it all? What’s it called?
Either a Blackberry, or Palm Treo maybe…..there are various applications on those.
Basically it uses x = v*t so the laser pulses and measures the time from the pulse until the reflected signal is received. Then this time times the speed of light yields the distance.

Overview:
Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire is an 100 acre estate of ancient deer park that incorporates 3 businesses. In this clip, Tony from Sky Guide International Ltd., demonstrates how they calculate the distance (in yards) from the tee to the centre of each green on the new 9-hole golf course. Using a laser range finder, they measure distances accurately so that they can be entered onto the score card which will assist the golfer to choose the best club for that particular hole. The mathematics used, involves distance (in yards) and a range finder.
